Staff

We operate a keyworker system, where a member of staff takes a particular interest in a small group of children. Each child has an electronic Tapestry account and a paper Learning Journey book which records progress in all areas of development. Parents may see and contribute to Tapestry and the learning book at any time and are encouraged to have regular contact with their child’s key person to share information.

Roles of the Staff

Lindi Harper

Preschool Leader/ Supervisor

To plan and implement a curriculum for the children, to include play, specialised and quiet activities whilst working towards the early learning goals. To continue the smooth every day running of the preschool by ensuring the staff are aware of their responsibilities and the children and parents/carers are happy. Reports to the committee chair.

Kathryn Patterson

Deputy Supervisor

To generate a loving and caring atmosphere where the children can learn and interact with others. Supervise and encourage children in their various activities. Support the Preschool Leader in their work, including the execution of specific tasks and activities as requested. Reports to Preschool Leader.

Lisa Harper, Tracy Swyer

Key person 

To assist each child to settle into the preschool by keeping a special watchful eye on the child especially in the first few sessions. Provide for the emotional needs of the child, e.g. to comfort and reassure the child at any time of distress; and to assist with toileting as necessary. Supervise and encourage children in their various activities and plan for them as an individual. To be available to talk to parents/carers whenever needed.
